Mayweather vs Berto (apparently) a done deal
According to the folks at TMZ, the fight is now “official” although the man who calls the shots (Floyd Mayweather) has not officially named an opponent on social media just yet, as is the tradition with him.

TMZ have stated they have spoken with Berto who told them: “It’s a pleasure and honor to be in this position and I’m looking forward to capitalizing on every moment of it”.
However nothing official from Berto has come from him yet on social media, with his latest tweet (of significance) as it stands being:
Could this be a subtle hint though? That is perhaps a humble statement of gratitude for something big he is about to receive? Quite possibly.
What we do know however, is that Mayweather will definitely fight on September 12th – with the man himself confirming so on Twitter:
As is usually the case in this situation, the man they call “Money” likes to keep the fans (and indeed fighters) guessing for as long as possible, before making any final decision.
Who’ll ever forget the protracted Mayweather vs Pacquiao talks, where everyday it seemed like it could be “the day” when Mayweather would finally announce the fight.
For the time being, all boxing fans can do is sit back and be patient unfortunately.
