Jean Pascal Outpoints Gonzalez In Close Decision
Jean Pascal may be counting his blessings after a razor thin victory Saturday night in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.

Cuban light-heavyweight Yunieski Gonzalez might have been stepping up in class against Pascal, but you wouldn’t have known it – as the man from Miami certainly rose to the occasion.
In an all action fight from beginning to end, he landed many telling blows on the Canadian favourite Pascal, who true to form, happily returned fire when asked.
In a high paced 175lbs bout, both men threw the proverbial kitchen sink at one another at a ferocious pace for 9 rounds, until the pace understandably caught up with both of them a tad, such was the exerts exhibited on Saturday night in Vegas.
When the 12th round came to a conclusion and the judges scorecards were asked for, it could have went either way to be fair.
However when 96-94 on all three scorecards rang out in favour of Jean Pascal by unanimous decision, many were a little surprised, none more so than Gonzalez who may have had a right to feel hard done by – when the post-fight punch stats showed he had landed ten more blows on the night.
The win sets up a potential clash for Pascal against division head honcho Sergey Kovalev, who propelled his fierce reputation further via a three round beat down victory on the same night.
