Brian Rose gets revenge on Carson Jones via points

Bruising 157lbs battle in Hull sees the Englishman prevail second time round.

In a fight where guts and toughness took precedence over skill, poise and technique, Brian Rose set the record straight with American Carson Jones, after controversially losing to Jones earlier this year.

Right from the get go the Englishman looked to take the fight to his US counterpart, who was happy it seemed to swing for the fences with big bombs for the night, of which had little success.

It was Rose’s dogged determination and relentless pace that was to prove to be the deciding factor, in truth. The 30 year old Blackpool native conveyed a real sense that he was not going to be denied throughout the contest.

Jones ever the rugged operator, was happy to oblige Rose with these rough house tactics on the night, with at times questionable shots going in late by both men after the bell for the end of multiple rounds’ rang, with some choice verbals also been exchanged between the two fighters.

After a tough, drag out affair, the final scorecards rang out 119-111, 116-112 and 117-112 all in favour of Brian Rose to give the man from the UK a satisfying and hard earned unanimous points decision victory.
