Martin Murray and Tony Bellew both secured highly impressive inside the distance victories last night, to ensure both men get back to the world title scene – with world title shots very likely for both fighters next.

Bomber On The Move
Tony Bellew continued his march towards a world cruiserweight title shot last night with a fifth round stoppage of unheralded Latvian Arturs Kulikauskis.
Although the opposition may not have been the best, it was still Tony’s fifth straight win since moving up from light-heavyweight, and it sees him step an inch closer to his ultimate goal of becoming world champion.
Bellew took a little while to suss out his Latvian counterpart’s slightly awkward southpaw style, but in the fourth round he had his first significant bit of success – when he buzzed the Latvian badly.
Kulikauskis was still clearly feeling the effects of the round come the 5th, Bellew sensed the finish was close, and accordingly rapped things up with piling on the pressure and forcing the referee to step in to save Kulikauskis from any more damage.
Tony Bellew is now due to face the winner of Yoan Pablo Hernandez vs Victor Ramirez for the cruiserweight title, in all likelihood. His world title dream edges a step closer.

In the chief support to the Josh Warrington fight (which was the headliner on the night), Martin Murray showed that moving up to super-middleweight seems to have beyond a shadow of a doubt been the right move, in what was a bit of a non-contest, in reality.
He battered Jose Miguel Torres from pillar to post, incredibly knocking Torres down seven times before finally the fight was rightfully waived off in the 5th.
To be fair, the fight was nothing more than a keep busy fight for Murray, who has been very active in recent months since signing with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom.
It is likely that next up, the 32 year old will get a crack at the world title with a fight expected against WBO German champion Arthur Abraham looking like it will be made.
