Austin Trout has now recorded 4 wins on the bounce following a tough 2013, and it was also Trout’s 3rd stoppage in a row – only this time he ended the fight during a round.

Hernandez 24-4-1(14KO’s) succumbed to his first stoppage loss since Ed Paredas finished him in 2 rounds back in 2010, as he eventually wilted to the body assaults that came in all night from the fists of Trout.
Trout 30-2(17KO’s) also bettered rival Julian Williams’ victory over Hernandez in April when J-Rock won every round to claim a unanimous decision, but Trout never looked in the mood to allow the Floridian to hear the final bell in this 10 round contest.
Trout opened the bout well, working to the body as Hernandez remained routed to the outside. The difference in class was evidence and the writing was on the wall when Hernandez’s frustration blew over in round 4. Joey intentionally lifted Trout up before dropping the former world champion to the canvas.
Hernandez was deducted a point and you could not have criticised Jack Reiss had the punishment been more severe.
A right to the body in round 6 proved all she wrote as Hernandez could not beat the count.
Hernandez came into this 156lb catchweight at the Light Heavyweight limit on fight night, but as he often does, Trout looked the physically bigger and stronger fighter.
Trout also let go of a large quantity of punches as he looked more alike to the Trout that beat Miguel Cotto as opposed to the one that was outboxed convincingly by Erislandy Lara.
