VIDEO: Adonis Stevenson Crushes Karpency In 3 Rounds

If you had forgotten about the power that WBC light-heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson carries, last night in Toronto was an apt reminder.

The result was never in doubt as Adonis Stevenson drilled challenger Tommy Karpency in three for the most part, one sided, brutal rounds.

The difference in level of the fighters was apparent straight away, as Stevenson’s clubbing power ensured knockdowns as early as the second and third rounds.

Karpency felt the power of Stevenson towards the end of the first round, with a stinging left hand counter clearly hurting him.

Karpency tried to fight back at the start of the second but the power of Stevenson was too much for him, when a right hand looked like it didn’t quite connect clearly, but still had enough on it to send the challenger to the canvas.

The writing was on the walls by the third round, and a wicked body-head combo dropped Karpency again, this time prompting the referee to waive halt to proceedings.

After the fight Stevenson called out long time rival and fellow champion Sergey Kovalev, who’s team also mentioned on Twitter that there has been an offer on the table for the fight for quite some time.

It remains to be seen whether the fight will finally happen, boxing fans certainly hope if does – what a clash of power merchants it would be.

Here’s the moment as shot by the guys at the PBC YouTube channel when Adonis “Superman” Stevenson closed the show last night:
