Since conquering Wladimir Klitschko in a monumental effort in Germany, heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury has had to contend with some outside the ring issues since, and here’s the latest one.

Less than two weeks after his feat in Dusseldorf, one of the governing bodies’ belts whom he won (the IBF) have announced that they are stripping him of their title.
The IBF’s current mandatory challenger (official next in line contender) for their belt was a fighter called Vyacheslav Glazkov, originally from the Ukraine – now based in Florida, USA.
Glazkov had been waiting for his shot for quite some time with the IBF, and Fury had to accept him as his next defense in order to hold onto the belt.
However, with not much to gain from such a fight and also due to the fact there was a rematch clause in his fight contract with Wladimir Klitschko, Fury has opted to fight Klitschko again, rightly so, in a much more meaningful fight.
Fans of boxing will know that the IBF are very strict when it comes to enforcing their mandatory challenger fights, so this won’t surprise some.
In an interview with BBC Sport, chairman of the IBF Lindsay Tucker said:
“It’s true he’s been stripped of his IBF belt. Our challenger was Vyacheslav Glazkov, but instead Fury’s gone and signed a rematch clause with Wladimir Klitschko.”
