George ‘Saint’ Groves officially announced his new trainer today as one of the respected young trainer’s in the world, son of acclaimed Irish boxer Barry McGugian – Shane McGuigan.

The news come not long after former Grove’s stablemate David Haye announced McGuigan as his new coach a few weeks back, that will see Groves and Haye reunite in the same gym once again, with the two previously been stablemate’s under trainer Adam Booth in the past.
Previously Groves had also been trained by Paddy Fitzpatrick, however the pair mutually parted company a number of months back following a crushing third world title defeat for Groves in Las Vegas, to WBC super-middleweight titlist Badou Jack.
Groves will also join new stablemate and IBF super-bantamweight world champion Carl Frampton who is also trained by McGuigan, as he gets ready for the biggest fight of his career next February, in an highly anticipated showdown with fellow 122lbs champion Scott Quigg:
