The 2016 International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) class has been announced, and it’s as top notch as it gets in the sweet science.

Heading up the list is firstly the late, great, Puerto Rican warrior Hector ‘Macho’ Camacho. Camacho captured recognized world titles (one of the four big governing bodies’ belts) in three different weight divisions, super-featherweight, lightweight and junior welterweight.
He is widely regarded as one of Puerto Rico’s finest warriors with a professional boxing record of 79-6-3 (38KO).
In November 2015 at 50 years of age his life came to a tragic ending, when he was critically wounded in a shooting in his native Puerto Rico.

The 2016 Boxing Hall of Fame will also see the colorful, enthusiastic and much loved HBO boxing commentator and analyst Harold Lederman inducted.
Lederman has become synonymous with big fights on HBO over the years, with his on point round by round analysis of how a fight is going, and his now popular catch phrase to his fellow colleague Jim Lampley: “I got something to tell ya.”

The 2016 inductee crew will also be completed with the following names:
- Two-division world champion Lupe Pintor.
- Panamanian southpaw Hilario Zapata.
- Former Nevada State Athletic Commissioner Marc Ratner.
- Acclaimed journalist Jerry Izenberg.
- Renowned broadcaster Colonel Bob Sheridan.
- Petey Sarron, a former featherweight world champion in the 30’s, will go into ‘Old-Timer’ category.
- Coach Whitey Esneault. He’s best remembered for training Hall of Fame 175lbs champion Willie Pastrano.
