Reports are coming out today that a date and venue might now be set for the heavyweight title rematch.

As part of their pre-fight contract in their first fight, former heavyweight kingpin Wladimir Klitschko has activated a rematch clause that will now see him fight new WBA, WBO and IBO champion Tyson Fury again this year.
According to reports from the Daily Star today, the fight could potentially take place in Germany again, at the Bayern Munich Allianz Arena this time – on May 7th.
However, these reports have not being confirmed as of yet, and trainer and uncle of champion Tyson Fury – Peter Fury, told Boxing News Online today that in fact the fight might be looking more favourable at happening in the UK:
“Dates are being bandied around, people talk to various venues and then see what their available dates are, but it’s not reality; nothing is firmed up yet.”
He went on to mention how he feels he is confident of the fight happening in the UK, and even mentioned Ireland as as a possible location.
It is understood that negotiations for the rematch have been on-going for a number of weeks now, with an official announcement on what will actually be happening expected any day now.
