Frampton: I Have Talent and Application, Quigg Has Less Talent But A Lot Of Application

We are now less than two weeks to go until February 27th’s massive super-bantamweight world title unification showdown in Manchester.

The mind games and final pre-fight build up is well and truly underway ahead of the highly anticipated clash between Belfast’s Carl Frampton and Bury’s Scott Quigg.

The fight will take place in the Manchester Arena and it is expected on the night that the crowd will be split 50/50 between passionate Irish and English boxing fans, which could produce one of the best atmospheres in years.

Speaking this past weekend on Sky Sports program The Gloves Are Off, the two men sat down head to head in a battle of wits.

Speaking on the show, IBF champion Frampton thinks WBA belt holder Quigg’s lack of a boxing brain will go against him on fight night:

“I think he picked up on something there, about intelligence. I think his intelligence will be probably the let down to him in this fight, he can’t adapt. He’s trying to say he has a boxing brain, he doesn’t have a boxing brain.”

He added:

“I think talent will come into is as well. I think that’s a big difference. I have talent and application, Scott Quigg has less talent but a lot of application. My amount of talent plus the hard work I put in is going to trump his.”

The bookies currently have the fight a very even race at the moment, with perhaps an ever so slight edge favouring Carl Frampton according to latest bookmaker odds.
