The ‘Pacman’ has had his endorsement deal with sports giant Nike formally terminated today following controversial comments this week.

Earlier this week Filipino boxing great Manny Pacquiao created media headlines all over the world, when he made the below comments regarding the LGBT community in an interview where he said:
“It’s common sense. Will you see any animals where male is to male and female is to female? The animals are better. They know how to distinguish male from female. If we approve (of) male on male, female on female, then man is worse than animals.”
The 8 division world champion then quickly issued an apology over social media by saying:
However, this was not to be enough to save his endorsement deal and long standing ties with sports giant Nike, who today have issued the following statement:
Pacquiao next appears in the boxing ring on April 9th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he fights Timothy Bradley in their trilogy in what many are expecting to be Pacquiao’s final professional boxing match.
