Belfast’s Ryan Lindberg beat both Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg during their respective amateur boxing careers before they ever became professional world champions.

Lindberg actually beat Frampton not just once in the amateurs, but twice, with points victories in the 2005 Ulster Amateur Finals over ‘The Jackal’ and again then in 2007 Irish Amateur semi-finals.
Ryan also beat current WBA super-bantamweight Scott Quigg back when he defeated him at a multi-nations tournament in Liverpool back in 2006.
Lindberg now works in packaging for a pharmaceutical company but expressed plans to return to the amateur boxing game in the near future.
As a man who’s fought (and beaten) both boxers, his prediction on this weekend’s big fight certainly carries some weight. Here’s what he had to say:
