There’s another Belfast man other than Carl Frampton fighting in Manchester this weekend who has his eyes set on a big win. His name is Ryan Burnett.

Ryan Burnett (12-0-9KO) returns to action this coming weekend on the massive Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg undercard in search of his third professional title in three consecutive fights as he challenges Frenchman Anthony Settoul (21-4) for the vacant WBC International Bantamweight Championship.
The Belfast native picked up the prestigious Lonsdale belt in his last outing, outpointing the very experienced Jason Booth on route to a comfortable decision win in the Manchester Arena back in November last year.
Manchester and the Manchester Arena in particular, has been a good hunting ground for the Adam Booth trained slickster. In a fight previous to his British title win, he fought and beat Hungarian Robert Kanalas (10-4) for the WBO European Championship in the same venue.
The former Olympic Youth Champion told Sky Sports this week:
“This show is going to be as big as it gets. I’m just really looking forward to seeing what it’s like performing on such a high level. The WBC International belt is a massive belt to win. Winning this is going to put me up there and I can start mixing it with the best. I think by the end of the year, Adam wants me ranked in the top 10 with all the organisations. Winning the belt puts me right up there.”
The unbeaten 23 year old bantamweight has been consistent in his performances since turning pro back in May 2013, but this weekend represents a real opportunity to take his pugilistic exploits to the next level exposure wise – on such a massive pay per view event platform.
