According to our sources, Boxing News and Views understands that talented English man Billy Joe Saunders’ first defense of his world middleweight crown could come this summer against former world title challenger Hassan N’Dam.
N’Dam (31-2-18KO) will be known to many fight fans for his entertaining fight with Peter ‘Kid Chocolate’ Quillin where he picked himself up off the ground on multiple occasions to finish out the bout and return plenty of fire of his own, only to lose a unanimous decision in the end back in 2012.
He also came up short on points last year in his challenge for the then vacant IBF middleweight title against David Lemieux, who would later go on to fight Gennady Golovkin in October 2015.
Saunders (23-0-12KO) had recently been linked to a world unification showdown with Golovkin, however reportedly that fight is now not on the cards for the immediate future at least.
