The Canelo Alvarez vs Amir Khan international media tour is in full swing this week. After an initial pit stop in the UK to kick things off, the two fighters are now back in the States this week for the American leg of the tour.

Both boxers it can be fairly said have decent international followings, based on past TV ratings, social media followings and overall draw power as ‘names’ within the sport of boxing.
Some of Canelo’s passionate Mexican fans made their voices heard at the New York presser this week, prompting Doug Fischer for Golden Boy to ask the UK’s Khan his opinion on them – to which he said:
“The only way I can shut these people is by not arguing with them, by going in the ring and physically beating this guy. That’s the only way I’m going to shut them up. I’m not going to stand there and argue with people, I could do that all day, I could be on social media and doing all that, I don’t do that one bit – I’ve never done it. But this fight, they will shut themselves up afterwards.”
Khan (31-3-19KO) comes into the fight in good form, having won five bouts on the spin now dating back to 2012.
It will however, see the Englishman move up an entire two weight classes to challenge Canelo (46-1-1-32KO) at 155lbs for his WBC middleweight title.
The fight will take place on May 7th at the newly constructed T-Mobile Arena located just off the Las Vegas strip in Nevada, USA.
