Bradley Skeete got his tactics spot on in Birmingham on route to becoming the new British and Commonwealth welterweight champion by outpointing local fighter Sam Eggington.

Skeete (23-1-10KO) ran out a winner on the scorecards with scores of 117-112, 116-113 and 115-113 over hometown fighter Eggington (17-3-9KO).
It completed a long journey for Skeete who had worked a number of years to finally win the Lonsdale belt and a proud Skeete paid tribute to mentor Dean Powell and his uncle after the bout.
The win was further impressive given the fact Skeete had to travel to Eggington’s hometown and also was boxing on a rival promoter’s show.
