Hatton Trained Heavyweight Gorman Added To Saunders April 30th Show

Highly touted heavyweight Nathan Gorman has been added to the undercard of the big world middleweight title fight between Billy Joe Saunders and Max Bursak at the Copper Box Arena, London on April 30th.

The Nantwich puncher, who is trained and promoted by boxing legend Ricky Hatton, will make his TV debut against an as yet to be confirmed opponent on the dedicated boxing network, BoxNation.

Gorman, 19, has taken the professional ranks in style, scoring a stoppage of tough Czech Jindrich Velecky in December before outclassing Poland’s Jakub Wojcik over four rounds last month.

And Hatton believes his man will put on another great performance when the cameras roll in east London. Hatton said:

“I think everyone tuning in will be very impressed with Nathan. He’s not put a foot wrong in the time I’ve been training him and I think people will see a star in the making. Obviously, it’s still early days for him and he’s only a baby in boxing terms at 19, but I believe he has the power and the determination needed to go all the way to the top.”

The ‘Hitman’ concluded:

“Appearing on the undercard of a world title fight so early in his career is a massive opportunity for him and I can’t wait to see him doing the business and turning a few heads in front of such a huge crowd. We’ve got big plans for Nathan so as well as getting him this opportunity, myself and my team are working on putting on a kind of homecoming show for him either in or near to Nantwich this summer.”
