Tony Bellew is set to box in front of thousands of passionate fellow Liverpudlians this summer outdoors when he takes on Ilunga Makabu for the vacant WBC cruiserweight world title.

Bellew (26-2-1-16KO) has been a life long fan of Everton Football Club and it is understood that a dream of his to box for a world title there will now become a reality.
According to reports from Boxing Scene, a date has been locked in for this summer where a Goodison Park license has been granted (home of Everton FC) to stage Bellew’s upcoming world title fight.
No official announcement has been made yet on the fight date and opponent, but it is heavily rumoured to be against southpaw puncher Ilunga Makabu (19-1-18KO).
Tony Bellew last fought in December of 2015 when he won a unanimous decision over Mateusz Masternak to win the European cruiserweight title.
Bellew also starred in the blockbuster movie ‘Creed’ in recent times and here he is in recent weeks speaking on Sky Sports News, hoping for the Goodison Park fight for the world title and talking about his acting experiences:
