Newly crowned IBF Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua has offered some advice to the real, lineal Heavyweight Champion of the World Tyson Fury, in terms of helping him shed a few pounds.
Tyson Fury is currently gearing up for a massive showdown on July 9th in Manchester that will see him rematch former titlist Wladimir Klitschko at the Manchester Arena live on BoxNation.
The Ring Magazine, WBO, WBA (super) and IBO heavyweight champion recently revealed he has a large amount of weight to lose ahead of the fight, with a figure of around 3 stone floating around at the moment.
His fellow UK heavyweight rival Anthony Joshua told Sky Sports News he is happy to help with his weight loss:
“I told him I’ve got the training tips, I’ve told him (laughs) I’ve got the training tips when he’s ready. He’s three stone overweight, I could shed that in a month. Don’t worry about that. Just reach out Tyson, I’m here.”
He added:
“I see the demand that people want me to fight Tyson Fury at some stage. As I said, one Fury at a time and we’ll get that ball rolling. Whether he wins or loses (against Klitschko) I think if the demand is still there, I’d love to fight Tyson Fury sometime.”
Joshua’s next opponent has not been announced yet, but his first title defense is expected to take place in the UK in late June or July this summer.
Here are some brief highlights via Showtime of Anthony Joshua’s recent 2nd round KO win over American Charles Martin – that saw him win the IBF heavyweight title recently:
