The colorful American has been in typically entertaining voice this week ahead of his latest bout this weekend on the undercard of David Haye’s show at London’s O2 Arena.
44 year old American Briggs (59-6-1-52KO) will take on Argentinian Emilio Ezequiel Zarate in a ten round bout this weekend, in a fight he is expected to win in truth, but it is anticipated to be the first of a planned fighting stay in the UK this year.
Haye has been in the media lately linked with heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, but it appears New Yorker Briggs could be what is in store next for the former WBA Heavyweight Champion.
Haye headlines the show Brigg’s fights on this weekend against unbeaten Kosovo heavyweight Arnold Gjergjaj but at an open workout this week in front of some members of the public, comments from Briggs seemed to go under the radar pertaining to what will be next for Haye if both men win this weekend:
“He already signed the fight. Don’t let him fool you guys. I win Saturday night, he wins Saturday night, we are going to fight at the O2 Arena in September and I am going to knock him out cold.”
The event this weekend in London will be shown live on free to air television on Channel Dave.
