David Haye was in a positive mind frame today and admitted that Bellew got into his head in their first fight – but was not going to let the same happen second time around.
The rematch is set for May 5th at the O2 Arena in London and Haye has been making a lot of changes since over a year ago when Bellew shocked him in March 2017.
Both guys have been in one another’s minds for over a year now – as they knew a rematch was on the cards.
You could tell today that they know one another rather too well as a consequence.
Speaking to Bellew, Haye tried a different approach today:
“You bettered me. This time around it will be different. But then again I believed that the first time around. Maybe my beliefs are wrong. You caused the flip around. Are you not happy with that? You humbled me.”
What a difference a year makes.
This time last year he was throwing punches in the press conference at Bellew.
Ultimately, Bellew used this to his advantage and delivered a game plan that worked over an angry David Haye.
