31 year old Russian light-heavyweight Artur Beterbiev (10-0-10KO) continued his undefeated record in the pro ranks by dropping opponent Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna four times on route to a four round stoppage win last night at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
The fight took place on a Premier Boxing Champions ESPN card and the man who twice beat his fellow countryman Sergey Kovalev in the amateurs, didn’t disappoint the passionate watching Montreal fight fans.
Some had expected perhaps a tad of ring rust from Beterbiev going in the fight, having not competed for over a year since his last bout in June 2015 when he beat Alexander Johnson.
However he showed no evidence of this whatsoever. Instead, he delivered a devastating but well put together beating, that saw him close the show in clinical fashion over four rounds.
A potential fight with Jean Pascal has been mooted as a possible next opponent for the hard hitting Russian, with Pascal spotted in the crowd as an interested spectator on the night.
