The Irishman has produced some outstanding comeback knockouts during his professional career. But this one has to be up there as one of the very best.
The say a puncher is never out of a fight, as they’ve got that all important equalizer that can change the course of a contest in the blink of an eye.
Andy Lee has certainly proved that theory to be true on multiple occasions.
On June 7th at Madison Square Garden in New York, fight fans were to get a knockout treat when Andy Lee behind on scorecards after four completed rounds, uncorked this perfectly time right hand counter bomb in the 5th (hat tip to sweetboxing2):
A knockout that no doubt will live long into the memories of many an Irish boxing fan.
160lbs contender Lee currently does not have an opponent officially scheduled for his next bout in 2016, although rumours of a Miguel Cotto showdown had been heavily mentioned a few months back.
Andy Lee’s current professional boxing record stands at 34-3-1 (24KO) in a career that has seen him become WBO middleweight champion of the world thus far.
