Kid Chocolate: GGG Fight Worth At Least $2 Million For Anyone

Peter ‘Kid Chocolate’ Quillin has acknowledged that a Golovkin fight is a serious prospect for any middleweight on Earth and they should be compensated accordingly for the risk undertaken.

Former WBO middleweight champion Quillin has sparred with Golovkin in the past and like many others who’ve shared the ring with him, he knows all too well just how big a puncher Golovkin really is.

Speaking to Fight Hype, Quillin said that he understands that Canelo is currently negotiating with Golovkin at the moment to get the best possible deal for a fight, and that any 160lbs fighter on the planet needs to get paid considerably if they step in there with ‘GGG’:

“That fight is at least worth $2 million dollars for anybody, especially in this division where there’s not a lot of people, a lot of fighters cannot fight other fighters because of business. Whoever fights Gennady Golovkin should get paid their money because he’s a real threat. I’m not going to lie to you I sparred him, he’s a serious guy.”

Canelo’s current promoter Golden Boy Promotions were exonerated from an ongoing case involving him and his previous promoters All-Star Boxing over the last 24 hours.

As a positive consequence, it is now thought that this should free time up for Golden Boy to resume negotiations with Golovkin’s representatives to get a mega-fight made between the two for later this year.
