Watch: Epic Bleed For This Trailer, Movie On Boxer Vinny Pazienza

This genuinely looks like one of the best boxing movies we’ve come across in a long, long time.

For those not familiar with the Vinny Pazienza story, a brief introduction.

Vinny was a five time world boxing champion who’s career stretched between 1983 and 2004 as a professional prizefighter.

During this time, Pazienza built up a record of 50-10 (30KO) and won titles at lightweight, super-welterweight and later – all the way up at super-middleweight.

He fought and shared the ring with renowned fighters such as Roberto Duran, Roy Jones Jr, Roger Mayweather, Lloyd Honeyghan, Herol Graham and Hector “Macho” Camacho, to name but a few.

But it’s his almost super-human story outside of the ring that makes his career achievements in boxing all the more spectacular, a man who seemed to care little for the term ‘giving up’ or what other people thought.

Nicknamed ‘The Pazmanian Devil’, Pazienza overcame what is considered by some to be one of the most severe injuries a professional fighter has ever came back from, when he was involved in a car crash that almost severed his spinal cord and rendered him in a head brace.

Doctors at the time said he would most likely not walk again and certainly not fight again. Against all odds (and advice) however, Pazienza returned to the ring a little over a year later and also to winning ways.

Not only did he do this though, he continued his career after this for over a decade and finally had his last fight in 2004, which he ended on a unanimous decision win over American Tocker Pudwill.

Anyway, to get a glimpse of this amazing human being’s life, a new movie called ‘Bleed For This’ is due to hit cinema screens this November. This writer for one can’t wait.
