WBA (regular) 160lbs champion Danny Jacobs wants a piece of the division’s WBA (super) middleweight champion amid talks that GGG could be fighting Chris Eubank Jr in the UK.
During the week I briefly spoke to Golovkin’s promoter online who told me that they were still working on the Eubank Jr fight deal as of last Wednesday and as of that point, nothing had been finalized yet.
Later during the week Eubank Jr promoter Eddie Hearn mentioned in the press that a deal was very close to being made but as of today, Saturday July 2nd, we are still waiting on an announcement.
After Eubank Jr’s last win over Tom Doran his father and mentor Chris Eubank senior said that there were issues from his perspective with how the money was proposed to be distributed from broadcaster Sky for the deal that was on the table at that point for the fight, so perhaps negotiations have snagged a little.
One fighter who certainly wants to keep himself in the mix for a Golovkin fight when apparently few do is Daniel ‘Miracle Man’ Jacobs:
Let’s do it … ME vs GGG!

Firstly Jacobs is slated to return to the ring at the end of this month on July 30th at the Barclays Center in New York, against an as of yet unnamed opponent.
