Carl ‘The Jackal Frampton’ has tweeted a picture as he jets off to the America to continue his preparations for the exciting WBA Super World Featherweight title fight against Mexican Leo Santa Cruz.
The 29-year-old Belfast man is in confident spirits stating in his message:

Carl continues his journey to be Northern Ireland’s most successful boxer as he aims to be the proud nation’s first two-weight world champion and to continue his legacy after being the first Irish boxer to unify world titles.
Carl could not face stiffer competition as he takes on unbeaten Mexican Leo Santa Cruz in what many pundits see as a true 50/50 fight, but he believes he has the style to beat Santa Cruz.
Both fighters have the momentum of excellent victories where Frampton beat fierce rival Scott Quigg (31-1-2, 23 KO’s) in a well battled split decision last time out, with Santa Cruz halting Kiko Martinez in defence of his WBA crown in his most recent outing, knocking his opponent down twice in the first round in bullish fashion – eventually stopping Martinez in the fifth round after sustained punishment.
Carl steps up in weight to face Santa Cruz and has relinquished his IBF World super-bantamweight title for the opportunity, an opportunity it appears the Frampton team have been chasing for a number of years now.
In an interesting blend of styles Carl’s slick, precise boxing style will merge well with Santa Cruz’s all action tempo and classic Mexican toe to toe style.
It is a difficult one to call with the main indicator of the boxer’s levels being Kiko Martinez, who both fighters have faced and beaten over the last three years.
It seems from these bouts Santa Cruz may hold the upper hand due to the method of execution, but it’s close.

It should be an excellent night of boxing in Brooklyn’s Barclay Center with a number of fantastic supporting acts on the bill with Belarus’s Sergey Rabchenko (27-1, 20 KO’s) facing Detroit’s Tony Harrison (23-1, 19 KO’s) in a IBF Junior Middleweight eliminator, where the victor will be the number two mandatory challenger to IBF king Jermall Charlo in what is considered boxing’s deepest division at the moment.
Unbeaten former two-division champion Mikey Garcia (34-0, 28 KO’s) also returns after a two and a half year lay-off, squaring up against the Dominican Republic super-lightweight Elio Rojas (24-2, 14 KO’s).
Garcia boasts victories over big names such as Roman Martinez and Juan Manuel Lopez and could be considered as one of the best in the world if his form continues, which would then put him in the frame for top ten pound for pound discussions potentially.
In what is expected to be the noisiest bout of the night, local boys Pauli Malignaggi (35-7, 7 KO’s) and Gabriel Bracero (24-2, 5 KO’s) face off in a battle of Brooklyn which is set to ignite the local crowd and entertain the worldwide audience.
In essence, this looks to be the strongest card ever displayed at the Barlcay Center with an anticipated sell-out crowd and a boisterous atmosphere.
