Premier Boxing Champions Ratings Fighting Back It Seems

The Premier Boxing Champions ratings on TV in America have done better than some have predicted in recent times.

A few weeks back the enthralling toe to toe battle between Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter drew in a reported 4 million viewers on a PBC on CBS broadcast in the States, a significant number for any live sporting event it must be said.

Earlier in the year many were having doubts about how successful PBC would turn out to be, given the significant cash went through given to them by their investors.

But it appears from a ratings standpoint that they are not doing as bad as many would have you think.

Last weekend according to Nielson Ratings, the WBC heavyweight title fight between Deontay Wilder vs Chris Arreola reportedly brought in 2.54 million viewers on the PBC on FOX card.

That’s not bad numbers when you consider the fact the fight was a fairly late replacement for what was meant to be a defence for Wilder in Russia against Alexander Povetkin initially.

Last weekend’s bout would have been significantly lower profile than that fight and with limited time to promote, it shows that ratings-wise at least, PBC seem to be gaining some positive momentum at the moment.

The Thurman-Porter fight a few weeks back was no doubt the catalyst for this momentum and if PBC can continue to put on some well matched bouts before the year is out, it will be interesting to see what the Premier Boxing Champions ratings tally is come the end of the year.

If you didn’t see the Thurman-Porter fight a few weeks back and are wondering what all the fuss was about, here’s the key highlights of a tremendous bout:
