Deontay Wilder Gives Estimate On When He’ll Be Back

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has successfully undergone two surgeries in the last ten days following his recent win over Chris Arreola in Birmingham, Alabama.

Following his stoppage victory over Arreola operations were required to the hand and arm of Wilder, who suffered both a torn bicep and multiple fractured hand during the bout.

Speaking this week to the PBC YouTube channel Wilder said:

“I cant wait until it’s over so I can start my recovery time, so I can heal properly. The doctor said I will heal 100% so I’ll be back soon and I can’t wait to get back in the ring as soon as possible.

He added:

“They’re giving me, they are saying six months to recover so if it’s being that six months. I’m going to take the whole full six months to recover and when I come back I’m going to be stronger than ever and I’m going to pick up where we left off.”

For those that did not see Deontay’s last fight where he sustained the injuries – here’s highlights of the bout via the PBC YouTube channel:
