The Oakland native set up the long awaited showdown with Sergey Kovalev and in case you missed it, we’ve got you covered with the Ward Brand highlights below.
Andre Ward moved his record to a perfect 30-0 (15KO) with a dominant and controlling unanimous points win over out matched Alexander Brand in front of Ward’s hometown fans.
Ward didn’t look at his supreme best however it must be said, perhaps because he had one eye on the big fight that lay ahead on November with Kovalev, looking like he was just in cruise control for most of the fight in a bout that he was heavy favourite in.
Brand appeared to be content to try to survive and go the twelve rounds with Ward, getting tagged with some heavy shots by the 2004 Olympic Gold medallist at times during the match.
Attention quickly turned to the upcoming Kovalev fight on November 19th afterwards, when Kovalev who was sitting ringside got into the ring and said he is ready for the fight.
