Floyd Mayweather has been in Rio for this year’s Olympic boxing action supporting team USA but with his promoter’s hat on now, has revealed his main reason for being in attendance.
It didn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that Mayweather was interested in talented US pugilist Shakur Stevenson, after the two were standing next to one another in one of Stevenson’s post-fight interviews at the games.
But ‘Money’ as he’s known, has now being up front about it:
Mayweather’s plans have now been bolstered should he be successful in signing Stevenson after the games, given the fact he could very well be swooping for an American gold medallist as Stevenson was progressed to the final following his Russian opponent having to pull out of the semi-final due to cuts:
Well my opponent pulled out of the fight due to injury, I will be fighting Saturday for the Gold medal. I’m in the finals #1MoreFight?

Mayweather no doubt sees the dollar signs flashing here, with Stevenson proving to be an outstanding talent for the US in this year’s Olympics.
