Boxing News and Views Updated Top 10 Pound For Pound Rankings

The new boxing season is drawing near following a busy month of Olympic boxing action in August. Accordingly, we’ve tweaked our pound for pound rankings once again ahead of the new pro boxing season.

Ahead of the new boxing calendar we’ve revised our pound for pound top ten list slightly, following a particularly impressive win recently for American welterweight Errol Spence Jr.

Consensus within the game is that that Spence without doubt has potential to be a top star in professional boxing over the coming years, but such was the emphatic nature of his display recently over Leonard Bundu, he’s already in our new pound for pound list.

Regulars on the list such as Golovkin, Gonzalez, Ward, Kovalev and Rigondeaux remain, but we’ve slightly switched things up position-wise following a deeper look into the rankings.

Big fights coming up later this year featuring some of the above men, as well as others vying to climb the rankings, make compiling a mythical list of this nature always a difficult proposition, but nonetheless – a very fun one at the same time.

Honourable mentions that just miss out this month in our top ten include the likes of Tyson Fury (just), Canelo Alvarez and Kell Brook.

Here is our updated top 10 pound for pound list as of August 26th, 2016.
