Heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury blasts Eddie Hearn after putting his charge in the ring with Gennady Golovkin last weekend.
The dust has now settled on last weekend’s middleweight fight in London, that saw five furious rounds between Gennady Golovkin and Kell Brook in front of a passionate crowd at the O2 Arena.
Brook proved that he was more than able to hang with Golovkin in the opening rounds but alas, the power and relentlessness of such a naturally bigger opponent who has campaigned at middleweight for many years, caught up with him by round five, after his trainer Dominic Ingle rightly pulled him out after a broken eye socket.
Tyson Fury has taken a dim view of Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn however for putting his man in there in the first place:
Love the way @EddieHearn sold he charge out last night for a few quid! Putting him in a fight he knew he had no chance of winning. Welldone.

Prior to the fight Hearn was very vocal about how he thought Brook could win the fight, which he would obviously say as his promoter, but the bookmaker’s odds did not reflect this sentiment.
Very few in reality actually picked Brook to cause an upset given the magnitude of the challenge, but credit must be given to him after the performance he put in with his stock in boxing definitely increased as a result.
