The Liam Smith vs Canelo early undercard fights were live streamed free of charge for the public courtesy of the Golden Boy Promotions.
The undercard consisted of a number of up and coming prospects while also featuring some more established names before the main event got underway.
The preliminary bouts of the evening featured up and coming fighters from the Golden Boy Promotions stable such as Joseph Diaz and Diego De La Hoya, but also showed Sadam Ali and the co-main feature of the night was Garbriel Rosado vs Willie Monroe Jr in the middleweight division.
That’s a fight that we were looking forward to in particular, one that on paper at least really seemed like a competitive encounter and pitted your typical boxer vs fighter styles together – which is always an intriguing view.
The last time Monroe Jr was in June last summer before the below when he defeated John Thompson via unanimous decision in New York.
Rosado’s last outing in a professional boxing ring also came last June (at the time of this fight), when he also won a unanimous decision against his foe Antonio Gutierrez in Carson, California.
