Tommy Langford Slams Eubank Jr For Pulling Out Of Fight

Tommy Langford slams Eubank Jr after he pulls out of fight with him in October.

Langford is understandably frustrated at the nature of which the announcement of the news came today, via a press release that also included comments about how team Eubank will now look for bigger fights next up, inadvertently belittling the Langford fight in a way (in my opinion).

Granted, Eubank Jr is indeed injured and we have no reason to believe otherwise at this point in time, but Tommy Langford (17-0-6KO) is understandably gutted, as it represented the biggest fight of his career to date.

Speaking on Facebook the man from Devon had this to say:

Tommy Langford Slams Eubank

The injury to Eubank Jr’s elbow has been labelled a ‘tennis elbow’ in some quarters, as Langford mentions above, with as yet no word from Eubank’s father on social media (as is usually the norm for their announcements).

However, Eubank Jr himself has said this on Twitter a short time ago:

Gutted

With the fight date still being over a full month away, it is unlikely the show in question will be in jeopardy as there should still be sufficient time at this stage to get a replacement for Langford, you would imagine.

As for Eubank Jr, potential fights next year could include the likes of Gennady Golovkin or a Billy Joe Saunders rematch, according to latest reports.

Golovkin and Saunders are also linked with a potential fight against one another, however, which some are saying at the moment is being discussed for possibly next February.

If that were the case, Eubank Jr could once again see himself tied up for a while in terms of having to wait for a big fight, after recently missing out on the Golovkin opportunity due to protracted negotiations that eventually saw IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook get the fight instead.
