Hatton ever the class act, has not only set up a fundraising page for the deceased boxer Mike Towell and his family but has already pledged £5000 of support himself.
The boxing world is still trying to come to terms with the terribly sad news that one of it’s young fighting sons from Scotland, Mike Towell, lost his life in the early hours of this morning after a 5th round stoppage defeat in Glasgow during the week in the welterweight division.
Thoughts turned this morning to support and paying respect to Towell and his family, with former mult-weight world champion Ricky Hatton the first to come up with the idea:
Has anyone got a page going raising money for the family ?Not seen one need to make sure they ok. If not all start one and put some money in

Subsequently the fundraising page was set up a short time after and if you would like to pledge support to Mike Towell’s family in this difficult time you can do so here.
Tributes have been pouring in all day so far for the fallen warrior, who was only 25 years old at the time of his departure from this world.
Everyone at Boxing News and Views sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mike Towell at this time.
