Watch: Sergey Kovalev Training Hand Eye Coordination For Ward

It’s clear to see the Sergey Kovalev training regime in preparation for the biggest fight of his life with Andre Ward is being treated accordingly, both in it’s intensity and meticulous approach.

Recently we caught up with Kovalev’s promoter who said her fighter is training as hard as ever and that she hadn’t seen him like this in preparation since he was getting ready for Bernard Hopkins a couple of years ago.

Kovalev is no doubt a powerful puncher who is feared for his knockout fists, but on that occasion against Hopkins, he also showed that when’s he’s on form, his boxing skills are as stellar as anyone’s in the 175lbs weight class.

The argument could be made however that it was a much past his best Bernard Hopkins that night, given his considerable age at the time but nonetheless, it was a fine performance from the man they call ‘Krusher’ either way you slice or dice it.

He knows that Andre Ward will likely represent the most difficult puzzle to figure out of his pugilistic career thus far and looks to be taking his preparation to a scientific level according to one of his recent Instagram posts.
