Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury Retires From Boxing

Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury retires from boxing via a rather controversial but typically honest and entertaining statement.

Recently Fury has been at the centre of a torrid time personally and professionally, after it emerged he had unfortunately been suffering with various mental health issues since winning his heavyweight titles last year against Wladimir Klitschko.

His uncle and trainer Peter had said that Tyson’s motivation for the game was at an all time low, as he didn’t feel he got the recognition he deserved since winning the titles and that he was seeking help for problems he was currently going through.

In recent days, it also emerged from a report put out by ESPN that Fury had allegedly tested positive for cocaine and that he was facing the prospects of having some or all of his belts stripped from him.

Fury today has come out with the following statement about boxing in general and announced his retirement from the sport:

Boxing is the saddest thing I ever took part in, all a pile of ****, I’m the greatest, & I’m also retired, so go suck a dick, happy days.???

Perhaps this statement is to be taken with a pinch of salt in some regards though, as we’ve seen boxers retire over the years before and then make a u-turn on their decision afterwards.

I can’t see a heavyweight with as much talent as Fury staying retired from the sport forever, at this stage, particularly given the fact he is still only 28 years of age.

But time will tell.
