The Joshua Klitschko purse is set to be a big one.
Although the fight has not been officially signed yet or confirmed, many are expecting the news of the biggest heavyweight of the year to get over the line in the coming days.
The bookies are even giving these odds on the fight at the moment.
Gareth Davies of the Telegraph has reported that the fight purse between the two will be £30 million British pounds, or when converted over – approximately $36 million US dollars.
He is also reporting that the fight will take place on December 10th. Yeah, that’s the same night David Haye is planning on fighting next too.
While it wouldn’t make sense for the two fights to go on the same night perhaps a compromise will be reached on the dates for both fight events.
While Davies doesn’t make it clear how he came to the above purse figure, it could very well be on the money in terms of what the guaranteed purse is – given the size of such a potential event.
It has also been reported that both men could split the purse 50/50 straight down the middle. The real figure of what both fighters could earn in total though outside of the guaranteed purse above could be significantly higher.
When you add in the British pay per view sales on Sky TV, international TV revenue in Germany and the USA, sponsorship, gate receipts and any merchandise sales leading up to the event and on the night, the final revenue pot will be a whole lot more.
