Joshua vs Klitschko Negotiations Look To Be On The Rocks

Joshua vs Klitschko negotiations continue to go on this week as the boxing public wait patiently on an announcement.

It seems like the longer the negotiations for the fight go on, the more and more people are starting to think this heavyweight title fight might not happen.

At the time of writing this article, Tuesday October 18th, we still wait on news and it has been reported by Sky Sports that the hold up is due to a situation pending on whether or not the WBA (Super) world heavyweight title will be at stake.

The fight needing to be a unification match appeared to be a must for both teams all along in the negotiations so far, as both camps continue to wait on finding out the status of the belt following previous champion Tyson Fury vacating it last week.

Over night in the US respected boxing journalist also noted on Twitter that team Klitschko are already looking at other fights:

I’m told by a good source there are issues closing Joshua vs. Klitschko so Klitschko is now also looking at another possible December fight.

Worrying news for fans looking to see a big heavyweight title fight in the UK between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko.

It appears that everything else is now virtually agreed including the purse split in the Joshua vs Klitschko negotiations.

So perhaps if the WBA title situation is sorted out this week the fight can still happen as planned for December 10th.
