Arnulfo Obando is the coach of the pound for pound best boxer in the world today Roman Gonzalez. He has played a major role in developing ‘Choclatito’ and getting him to where he is today.

Elisinio Castillo of Boxing Scene has reported that the 54 year old coach suffered a stroke last week and on Monday morning of this week members of his family were told that Obando has been declared brain dead by the hospital treating him.

Gonzalez has risen to acclaim in recent years in world boxing with his incredible skills, speed and power (46-0-38KO).

He is the first boxer from his country of Nicaragua to win world titles in four different weight divisions in professional boxing.

He last fought in September when he won a unanimous points decision over Carlos Cuadras at the Forum in California.
