A look at the Ben Hall boxing result tonight in his fight with American Carson Jones in London. One that didn’t go the home fighter’s way.
Jones is no stranger to British fight fans having previously shared the ring with current IBF welterweight world champion Kell Brook on a couple of occasions, the first time pushing ‘Special K’ very hard.
Hall started well in the fight in round one, doing the better of the two in the early exchanges for the most part.
Things livened up in the second round a bit with Ben Hall starting to get the jab going and bloodying the face of Carson Jones, who looked like he was having trouble reaching Hall at times.
The third round was an excellent dust up for three minutes. Hall had big success and hurt Jones but Jones to his credit came back strong towards the end of the round.
Jones came back very strong again over the coming couple of rounds as Ben Hall seemed to be suffering from fatigue – possibly from emptying the tank too early at the beginning of the fight and in particular the third round.
Jones sensed his opportunity in the sixth round and with Hall in trouble the American poured on the pressure and opened up on Hall, prompting Hall’s corner to throw in the towel and given Carson Jones a memorable away win tonight in the UK.
Credit to Carson Jones. Always a tough operator with a massive heart who showed he still has plenty of fight left in him tonight.
