Legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather is not too pleased it seems with those speaking about his legacy in the sport. He has had this extensive message on the matter in fact:

Throughout the year Mayweather has been linked with a comeback on numerous occasions after constant talks of a Conor McGregor fight, photos of Floyd emerging with him sparring again and most recently following his appearance at the Manny Pacquiao vs Jessie Vargas fight.
In recent times he has been concrete on his conviction that he is staying retired on his 49-0 professional boxing record.
However rumblings in the boxing world still persist surrounding a potential comeback for Mayweather in 2017 in a bid to go for the elusive 50-0 record, but also to help gain more exposure for his promotional company that he is now heavily involved in – Mayweather Promotions.
Mayweather’s last fight in the ring came in September 2015 when he outpointed Andre Berto after before that been involved in the biggest financial event in boxing history against Manny Pacquiao, in May 2015.
When looking back on Mayweather’s career it’s hard to doubt the excellent credentials of his Hall of Fame legacy, when you actually sit down and analyze some of the names on his record, and when he beat them during their careers.
The likes of Diego Corrales, Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Manny Pacquiao, Canelo Alvarez, Shane Mosley and Arturo Gatti are all names that spring to mind for me straight away.
Also, when you consider the weights that Mayweather moved through naturally over a long period of time, in a career professionally that spanned from 1996 to 2015 (as things stand at least) and remain undefeated in all that time, speaks volumes on his legacy in my opinion.
There is no doubting Mayweather’s legacy in the sport as a great one but perhaps he will be tempted back for one last big pay day and chance to reach 50-0 before all is said and done.
