A new WBO heavyweight champion of the world has been crowned after 12 rounds in New Zealand. Lets take a quick look at the Parker vs Ruiz full fight in Auckland.
Joseph Parker vs Ruiz Full Fight Report and Reaction
In premising this Parker vs Ruiz full fight review, first off, I will gladly eat humble pie on my prediction before hand.
I genuinely thought Andy Ruiz Jr had enough about him to win this one but all credit to Joseph Parker on the win in what was a hard fought battle.
It wasn’t easy for him and some thought Ruiz Jr should have got the decision.
An unforgettable night, WBO WORLD CHAMPION. The journey continues ? #TEAMPARKER

Ultimately, Parker came out with a majority points decision after 12 rounds but Ruiz Jr as many thought he would, pushed him all the way.
Ruiz Jr looked like he was getting the better of things during the first half of the contest but Parker managed to get his way back into the fight down the stretch and over the second half of the fight in general.
The win made Parker the first ever New Zealand born heavyweight champion of the world in pro boxing.
He improved to 22-0 (18KO) record-wise with the victory. Ruiz suffered his first professional boxing career defeat.
Big potential unification fights now await Parker in 2017, as the much talked about Anthony Joshua fight this year looks more possible then ever now.
