It’s been a long, entertaining year in the sport of boxing overall. Granted, we didn’t have any mega pay per view fight as such, but 2017 looks like it will solve that with Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko in April and most likely Canelo vs Golovkin next September. As 2016 draws to an end at Boxing News and Views we are conducting our second annual Fighter of the Year award and we invite you, our readers, to vote on it.
2016 Fighter of the Year Award
Last year our award went to middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin after a significant vote by our readers resulted in him emerging on top.
But 2016 has been a little different, with many new fighters breaking through with standout performances that have seen them gather a lot of pugilistic steam going into the new year.
It wasn’t easy, but we’ve broken it down into the following eight fighters in our final shortlist below.
We’ll be announcing the winner on our social media channels on New Year strikes before 12am (PT time zone) on January 1st, 2017.
So here goes, get your votes in right here in our 2016 Fighter of the Year award as voted by you – the Boxing News and Views readers.
