James DeGale wins fight fan poll fairly conclusively ahead of Saturday night’s super-middleweight title unification with Badou Jack in New York.
The Briton will take on Mayweather promoted Jack this weekend at the Barclays Centre, as the first big boxing match to return to New York city following a previous insurance issue in the State last year that saw it become too expensive to put on pro boxing shows in New York for part of 2016.
Now that is out of the way, the Big Apple will play host to an intriguing fight this weekend. One that has got commentators and fans alike debating.
In many ways it could pan out to be a bit of a chess match. Although both men can pop a bit when they want to.
DeGale has said in the build-up that attributes like his footwork will be too much for Jack, while others feel the much improved Jack could catch DeGale early on and take him out.
We ran a short Facebook live poll to see what fans thought this week on who will emerge with the win – here’s what happened.
James DeGale wins fight fan poll:
Although it was just a quick poll we ran on a Monday morning, the results were conclusive for DeGale with him winning 156 votes to 16.
Of course this is just a fan poll and may not have any bearing on the fight itself, but it was interesting to see that the bookmakers are also making DeGale a slight favorite.
The match will be shown this weekend as part of a Premier Boxing Champions telecast in the US and shown live on Sky Sports in the UK, with the bout being broadcast on Showtime in the States.
