The news of Nicola Adams turning pro came today amid multiple exciting announcements from dedicated boxing channel BoxNation, promoter Frank Warren and BT Sport – that will see a plethora of sweet science action coming up in 2017.
Double Olympic Gold medallist from the UK Nicola Adams will be turning pro when she makes her debut on April 8th at the Manchester Arena against an opponent to be announced.
It is understood that she will then box again on May 13th in her hometown at the Leeds Arena.
34 year old Adams comes from a stellar amateur background having won Olympic Gold for Great Britain at both the 2012 London Olympics and more recently Gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil.

Adams also has Gold medals in the amateur World Championships, European games and the Commonwealth games.
In 2012 she was nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
The move to turn pro comes during a time where TV broadcasters are demanding more and more female sports action.
Recently Irish woman Katie Taylor turned professional with rival broadcaster Sky Sports and promoter Eddie Hearn.
