Lomachenko next fight is looking like it be on American TV company HBO again – as the talented Ukraine boxing maestro gears up for his first outing of 2017.
For those that watched Vasyl ‘Hi-Tech’ Lomachenko compete in 2016, you will be familiar with his genius displays in both of his stoppage wins against Roman Martinez and Nicholas Walters (full fight report here).
So much so that many had him as a contender for fight of the year for 2016.
Fast forward to 2017 and ESPN’s Dan Rafael has mentioned on Twitter that the Lomachenko next fight is likely to come against Jason Sosa on April 8th.
The fight would represent a unification match up in the super-featherweight division with Sosa’s WBA (Super) title on the line and Lomachenko’s WBO title at stake.
Sine turning professional only back in 2013, Lomachenko (7-1-5KO) has already become a two-weight world champion in his fast paced career.
Sosa of New Jersey is a solid world champion who has campaigned as a professional boxer since 2009 in a career that has seen him compile a record of 20-1-4 (15KO) to date.
He recently defended his WBA title for the first time when he beat the UK’s Stephen Smith via a unanimous points decision in Monaco back in November 2016.
