A Conor McGregor Mayweather boxing match if it happens, as most people who watch either sports will tell you, only ends one way in reality.
To put a guy in who essentially would be considered a novice pro boxer if he were competing in the sweet science with a guy who is considered one of the most technically competent pure boxers of all time, is a mismatch by any logical trail of thought.
But you can’t begrudge McGregor the opportunity to earn many millions of dollars if it does happen.
Fair play to him.
But will it be worth it for him, based on a potential massacre in a boxing ring against Floyd Mayweather?
The folks at Fox certainly don’t think so.
Fox rip Conor McGregor Mayweather boxing match credibility:
It’s hard to see outside of a punchers chance how McGregor could do anything with someone on the sweet science level of a Floyd Mayweather (in a boxing match).
Even at Mayweather’s advanced years, being smaller than Irishman McGregor and not having competed in quite some time.
It’s hard to see how he could even win a single round in a boxing match.
The fact remains McGregor is an MMA fighter. Mayweather is a boxer.
Apples and oranges.
McGregor takes on Mayweather in a cage in UFC rules – then he wins.
If it’s the other way round in a boxing ring under boxing rules, Mayweather comes out on top.
Simple.
If Mayweather gets in shape and takes this anywhere near seriously (if it happens that is), it can only end one way from a realistic point of view.
But there’s no denying that the pre-fight hype, build-up and circus that would come with this will draw a huge audience around the world.
Many of whom probably would not have watched boxing before.
That can only be a good thing after all for boxing at the end of the day.
More eyeballs and exposure generated for the sport – exposing potential new fans to boxing.
